For many girls, modeling is the ultimate dream job. There are so many casting shows on TV that lots of young girls get a taste of the model life. The world's top models earn millions, but how high is a model's salary, really?

How much a model earns depends on the agency and on how well known the model is. That's because there are no collective bargaining agreements for models. So a model's salary can't be stated across the board. At the beginning of a modeling career, models earn very little, and only as their profile grows does their pay rise too. Below you'll find info on what the different types of models earn:

Photo Model Salary

Photo models start their careers at as little as $12 per hour. Models who are better known or more experienced receive up to $35 per hour. If a photo shoot takes several hours, up to $350 can be earned.

Since the amount isn't fixed, the income depends on the number of photo shoots.

Runway Model Salary

There are two types of runway models that should be distinguished. First, there are exclusive models. These models are far better known and experienced and can earn several thousand dollars per show. But for a period of time they may only work for one designer and can't take other jobs. Then there are non-exclusive models, who are allowed to take other assignments too. These models receive up to $1,100 per show. A model's income depends heavily on location. In London, Paris and New York, models can of course earn much more.

Erotic Model Salary

As an erotic model, you can earn more than regular models. The hourly rate averages $25. Here too, experienced erotic models can get up to $350 per hour.

Models who reach "top model" status have no upper limit on their income. World-famous top models earn up to 44 million dollars a year! Nothing is impossible. If you have potential as a model, you have to believe in yourself firmly and hope that someday you'll make it big!
