Singles Dating - Being Single: Curse or Blessing?!

Life as a single can be wonderfully uncomplicated. People who live alone owe nothing to anyone. They can have as many casual one-night stands as they like. A single person doesn't owe anyone an account of their sexual activities. They don't have to solve relationship problems.

Do All Singles Like Dating?

No. Not all of them. So why is dating so important to many singles? Well, because many people without a partner who supports them or wants to grow old with them still feel somehow incomplete. Of course that doesn't apply to all singles, since dating isn't equally important to all of them. Some don't want to help their luck along by visiting a dating site - maybe because they like living alone, because some dating sites are considered shady, or because they're fed up with problematic relationships. It's been amply proven that people can still lead a fulfilling life as singles.

But it's also undisputed that dating is immensely important to many singles. The hope of Mr. Right or an attractive, smart woman really does die last. Basically, most people long for their other half because they don't feel complete living alone. With singles, suspicion quickly arises that they aren't interesting, commitment-ready or attractive enough to attract a partner. That's of course nonsense. Many people who have a partner made a bad pick. Some regret it for years. Divorce rates and the number of single-person households show that the problem is more complex.

Why Do Singles Find Dating Interesting?

Some only do it as playing with fire. Flirting is simply stimulating and fun. And you may well end up falling seriously in love. The fact that many singles approach dating rather playfully says nothing about whether they want to stay single. Deep down, many people long for a partner but no longer believe in true love. For many, singles dating is embarrassing. Some people would never admit that they visit dating sites. Yet using the internet is completely normal by now.

Approaching matchmaking the conventional way is actually much more old-fashioned than visiting a dating site. But opinions can differ on that. Our view: to each single their own. In the end, the method lonely people use to look for a partner doesn't matter. Finding a suitable partner in your immediate surroundings is less likely than anywhere else on earth. Two people who are perfect for each other can live in different cities or states. Chance doesn't always team up with Cupid to bring the two together. On dating sites, though, chance gets a helping hand.

Why Singles Go Dating

Whether it's curiosity, feigned disinterest or a secret hope for the great big stroke of luck: in the end, most singles are united by the wish for a suitable partner and the big love. For some singles, that's about as unlikely as winning the lottery. But if you don't play the lottery, you can't dance on the table as a lottery winner either. To improve their odds of a lucky strike, many singles log in to several dating sites at once. And why not.
